7 new victorianish prefabs and garden stuff!

Also available in red brick.

Also available in red.

Also available in yellow.

View the houses and items in world/buy here: Bijou 87, 16, 24

Introducing 7 new prefabs and a line of matching landscaping stuffs, I tried something a little different than my usual style and methood of construction. It was a fun challenge and hope you like them! They were designd for the victorian community for caledon but of course are available to everyone and would look great anywhere.

General Prefab details:

New scripting!

I invested in a prefab script set called Paskis that is really great, all these houses have privacy windows and locking doors with a central privacy control. Its much more powerful and coordinated than my old script systems. You can set the houses up the way all my old prefabs work (by group), make them work for anyone, OR create your own customized list of avatars. Nifty huh?

They also all come with an auto rezzor (rez faux).

see two following images for info on size, prims etc (click to enlarge).

NEW! Cote D'Azur prefab set and unique retail opportunity

(If you are not interested in buying prefabs but just in renting a shop space, skip to the end of this post).

Months ago I started this project with the Otherland Group, the idea was a shopping village with structures available for purchase as prefabs, much like the Larsen set I already offer (and many of you are sick of seeing!). However this set is much larger, of higher quality, and designed specifically for easy use as a build your own commercial area kit. I even broke down and set up auto rezzors with this set, which a lot of people have been asking for with my prefabs recently.

This charming set is a great set for anyone looking to develop their own commercial area for personal use or to rent out to retailers. The timeless architecture inspired off of the French Riviera is sure to be appealing to many retailers. A build of this quality would cost many hundreds of dollars, you can buy this set for a fraction of that price.

The set has 5 different sizes of shops, from extra small (12x12) to extra large (36x24), all shop sizes have a footprint divisible by 4, meaning it can be parceled off exactly for easy listing and traffic calculation for each unit. Also the standardized sizes make this a truly dynamic kit, allowing you to easily tweak the layout for your needs - for example replace a large unit with 2 smaller ones, or vice versa, and exchange 2 small ones for a larger shop to make room for a growing merchant. You can also switch the tops and bottoms of same sized shops for more variety in shop styles.

All structures and pieces are sold copy/mod, no transfer. All multi-pieced structures have an auto-rezzing system for easy setup.

In addition to just structures, many extras are offered for sale, everything from textured walkways to benches, planters and lightposts can be bought to accent the structures and create a wonderful atmosphere.

The structures and components can be bought individually, or in packs at a great discount.

A few examples of the 30+ unique structures available for purchase:

Rental Opportunities:
This area was designed first and foremost as a commercial shopping district, owned and managed by the Otherland Group. So naturally, each space is also available for rent and is just like any other shopping area in SL in that respect. We feel this is an exciting opportunity for merchants to have a shop in a high quality area where there is sure to be great cross traffic between people browsing/shopping the prefab collection as well as the goods provided by the many retailers in the shops. Each spot should have a poster inside with rental information, prices, prims etc. If you have any questions about renting or other retail opportunities in Rue D'Antibes, please contact Mikayla Gillespi of the Otherland Group. Sorry, but I can not help you with rentals!

Brand new prefab from Trompe Loeil - The Hobbiton

Hey kittens,

Just wanted to pop on quick and throw some eye candy your way with a brand new prefab from Trompe Loeil...

Presenting the The Hobbiton, a perfect cottage for the nature lover, the secret Hobbit, or anyone that wants something a little magical.

The Hobbiton uses sculpted building pieces and baked/lighted custom handmade textures to create a visually rich experience you don't normally find in SL. The layout is cozy but open, with a fireplace, living room, and a small loft/balcony area. Double front doors and second-story back door leading to a built-in stone patio are all owner-only. The porthole-style windows are all privacy, turning from two-way to one-way windows at a touch.

Check out The Hobbiton's online photo gallery for more images, then head over to Trompe Loeil (just south of beautiful Tableau) to view the demo in person!

A bit of N'awlins

Dear Barnes,
Please fix the pictures in the post you made below.
tks,
Ingrid

And now back to me. I made a prefab worthy of Barnes' precious blog. It's called The Garden District Townhouse. Pretty swank name eh? It's a house you'd see in the older parts of New Orleans. While looking for pictures as references, I've decided one of these days (aka when I win the lottery, which will be very soon) I will have one of these.
But for now, the prefab version is for sale in Tableau.

Wanted: Customer Service Rep.

Customer Service Rep. Wanted

About the job:
I am not looking for someone to take over my customer service, but simply work with me as a team to help take some of the load off of me. You will be answering basic questions customers may have about products they are thinking about purchasing as well as doing some technical support for people who may be having a problem with a product. You will send customers to me when you can not help them, and in turn I may send some your way when I am overloaded. I would like to keep this flexible with no set hours - I would like someone who is frequently online in the afternoon/evening (US time) and is willing to just be available as needed. This means you can be doing whatever you want - shopping, socializing, building etc - I wont be requiring you to stay in the store, just be available and ready to answer questions via IM and willing to go for an occasional house call.

Characteristics: You should be...
1) Patient - Some customers can be frustrating, you have to keep your cool and bear with them.
2) Professional - Be concise and clear. Be able to communicate and apply store policy.
3) Friendly - Be willing to chat with customers a little, usually they are pretty nice.

Basic Knowledge: Some basic things you should know for this position
1) My Products- Even I have to check out something from time to time about my own products, but a basic familiarity with my products and how they work is a must.
2) Land - A basic understanding of land, especially its sizes and primitive limits is important in helping a lot of customers who are looking to purchase.
3) Building basics - This is a big one! A lot of people have problems rezzing their houses. You MUST be able to help someone place their house. Also understanding how to do basic things like select an individual prim, link things back together etc. Nothing really fancy.

Other Criteria:
I am looking for someone who would be interested in doing this long term and I can rely on to provide basic customer service coverage when I cant. Also willing to pay well enough to make it worth while for someone to do this. If you are looking for a temporary position this is probably not the job for you.

Payment:
Pay is highly negotiable as I am just feeling this out and seeing if I can make it work. I will start people at L$300ish a day on a trial/training basis, willing to offer much more than that based on overall performance and volume of customers you are helping for me.
Also some perks come along with the job, I will defiantly be offering discounts on items you want to buy, and even free product so you can be familiar and experienced with the latest releases and house technologies.

Interested? Copy and paste the below text into a new note card titled “CSR Application - Your Name” (ex. CSR Application - Barnesworth Anubis) fill it out and send it to me, Barnesworth Anubis, in world. Feel free to shoot me an IM to make sure I got it, sometimes things get eaten by the asset server. Also any questions about the job or application please feel free to ask me.

Admission and Apology

You guys, I really got to get something off my chest here. There is no easy way to say this, so I am just going to do it fast, like ripping off a band-aide...

I'M A THIEF!

Yes, I admit it. I stole a roof design from someone. I thought it was OK at the time, but now that I have been confronted about it I realize how very wrong of me it was. There is no way for me to make this right, the damage is done. However I will keep to my word and make a public apology to the person(s) I stole it from.

I extend my deepest apologies to the indigenous people of Indonesia and their ancestors for recreating a roof style in the form of a traditional Batak hut without any expressed consent or due credit. I can only hope for forgiveness.

Sincerely, Barnesworth Anubis

_____________________________

lolz I'm so funny Ok for serious: The last few days I have been accused of stealing someones roof design on a prefab I did almost 2 years ago. I wont get into all the petty drama and naming names and he said she said stuff. I'm content with just posting these.

The prefab I am accused of stealing....

...My Prefab.

Traditional Indonesian Batak House (source photo I used to make house)

Thats all I have to say about that.
